Fauna

10 Cherry Shrimp — Neocaridina heteropoda (var. red)

  • Totally harmless to the tank community. They eat hair algae and breed readily once water parameters are stable.
  • Wild variety is plainer. The red variation was developed in Germany. Excellent as an accent to the tank's fauna. Was once rare and expansive.

2 Chinese Algae Eaters — Gyrinocheilus aymonieri

  • Hardy fish but as they get older and bigger they tend to squabble amongst themselves.
  • As with the Siamese Flying Fox, once you place them in your tank, they are extremely difficult to remove.

12 Cardinal Tetras — Paracheirodon axelrodi

  • Just love their blue and red colours against the green plants... Hope to buy more later.
  • Used to be caught wild but they are currently bred. The ones I bought are young as I did not want to end up unintentionally harrasing my Cherry Shrimp with bigger specimens.
